In the last few years complaints of indoor air quality issues, including mold growth, in both residential and commercial buildings have drastically risen. However, the lack of indoor air quality regulations or standards has created confusion about how much mold is ‘normal’ and what levels are safe. Environmental Management Group (EMG) staff has been investigating mold-related issues since 1997 and based upon on our experiences, we have developed a phased approach to evaluating and remediating mold-contaminated buildings to reasonable and appropriate levels. We have successfully used our approach at hundreds of properties nationwide for insurance companies, financial institutions, attorneys, developers, contractors, homeowners, and building owners.
